Silicone resin is an organopolysiloxane composed of irregular three-dimensional network structures, which are mainly trifunctional (T) or tetrafunctional (Q) units. The very stable Si-O bond and the characteristics of the organic substituents contribute to the excellent properties of heat resistance, weather resistance, electrical insulation, water repellency, mechanical strength, etc. Therefore, silicone resins are mainly used as an additive to improve durability, safety and reliability in many parts especially for pigment, coating, adhesive, or electric materials because of their ability to be formed in various types from liquids of high viscosity to solid matters.
